Loan Servicing Supervisor (St. Louis Park, MN) The Loan Servicing Supervisor is responsible for the collection of all delinquent accounts for consumer, mortgage, VISA and other loans as well as subordinate job duties as necessary such as initiating and processing garnishments, levies, and other actions to recover past due accounts.This position is responsible for initiating, pursuing, and ensuring prompt recovery of all monies owed to the credit union, that have been classified as past due and is primarily responsible for protecting the lending assets of the Credit Union through the control of delinquent loan accounts and deposit products such as checking accounts and ATM/Debit cards.This position is also responsible for monitoring data processing reports, compiling month end reports, and dealing with outside vendors.
Some responsibilites include - Direct supervision of the Loan Servicing Representative. Assigns accounts to be worked and maintains a system of control that indicates progress, including payments received on delinquent accounts, more stringent collections actions that need to be taken, legal processes to be initiated, and alternative collection methods that need to be initiated. Contacts delinquent borrowers in person, by telephone, or by mail, to encourage prompt repayment of delinquent accounts and confers with members to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of loan, charge, or credit contract with member. Works with third party resources to mitigate losses including initiating and ordering repossessions, foreclosures, or service disconnection, e.g. VISA, Debit/ATM, and checking accounts, or turns over account to attorney or third party collection agencies for further collection/legal action. Attends Bankruptcy hearings as necessary representing the credit union and making submissions to the Bankruptcy Court regarding the credit union’s claims and interest in the proceedings. Responsible for oversight of insurance claims, bond claims, levy requests, back up exception report processing, repossessions, foreclosures, legal actions, collection agency assignments and recoveries, bankruptcy intake and control, charge-off preparation and related reports.
Education/Experience: Undergraduate degree in business or related field and two to four years of collections experience or the equivalent in a credit union or other related financial institution or business environment.Experience and knowledge in collection practices and collection law, repossessions, bankruptcy law, skip tracing, consumer loans, real estate loans, vendor relationships, and provisions of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Member Service Representative (Kansas City, MO)
The Member Service Representative (MSR) works with members in person or by mail, to open checking accounts, new deposit accounts, new memberships, refer loans, close loans, sell credit insurance and other ancillary products, serve members’ needs and provide account resolution and maintenance.The position is also accountable for providing teller services to members including, but not limited to:deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, travelers checks, gift checks, money orders, savings bond purchases and redemptions.A strong emphasis is placed on sales, referrals and providing excellent service to all members.
Some responsibilites include - Opens new memberships, sells checking and other deposit-related products and services, sets up payroll deductions, orders statement copies, applys stop payments, orders ATM and debit cards, processes VISA inquiries, and processes account research requests. Responds to all member inquiries in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.Identifys and assess members’ needs.Researchs and immediately responds to members’ requests. Assists members in selecting products or services that best meet their needs.Cross-sells other complimentary products or services to provide total member satisfaction and meet the goals of the Credit Union. Closes loans in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.Assures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented and approved prior to closings. Maintains thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, and understands the departments and internal processes that support these products and services. Documents member problems and complaints, investigates and/or direct these matters through the proper channels to achieve member satisfaction.Follows up on issues to ensure matters are resolved. Contributes to accuracy of the computer database by properly verifying, entering and updating all member data with each member contact. Identify and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and work flow processes within the Credit Union.
Education/Experience: Requires high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years related work experience preferably in a financial institution or a college degree.Post-secondary education preferred.
